www.epa.gov: The site of the Environmental Protection Agency helps the agency accomplish its mission, which is "to protect human health and to safeguard the natural environment - air, water, and land - upon which life depends" by supplying information on a list of topics ranging from acid rain to wetlands and watersheds.
www.fda.gov: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration site provides information on food, drugs, cosmetics, toxicology research and more for consumers, health professionals and government officials. From this website, you can access some of the departments of the FDA, including the Centers for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) and the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), among others.
www.nhtsa.gov: This website is the official site for the National Highway and Traffic Administration. It provides information on recalls, crash tests, car and passenger safety. Users can access the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Auto Safety Hotline from this site.
www.nih.gov: The National Institutes of Health website offers NIH health resources such as consumer health publications, clinical trials, health hotlines and MEDLINE. In addition, the site provides on-site research news and the NIH Information Index, which is a subject-word guide to diseases and conditions under information on special interest groups, on-line library catalogs and journals, research training information, NIH research labs on the web and computer and network support for NIH scientists.
www.nsc.org: The mission of the National Safety Council (NSC) is "to educate and influence society to adopt safety, health and environmental policies, practices and procedures that prevent and mitigate human suffering and economic losses arising from preventable causes."
