What to Do if You’re Injured On the Job
- Tell your employer as soon as possible. You must give proper notice within 120 days of the injury or disability or you forfeit your benefits.
- Document your injury by writing down all the information about it, including the date and time, what happened, the names of any witnesses and any immediate medical treatment you had.
- You have 90 days to begin medical treatment. Some companies require you to use an approved medical provider. Your employer should have a list of approved medical providers. Otherwise, go to your family doctor.
- Start a folder that documents all visits to the doctor.
- Call Robert Peirce & Associates. You may not need an attorney, but you won’t know until you have an attorney review your case, which will not cost you anything.
