Pennsylvania veterans' benefits lawyer

Pennsylvania veterans have sacrificed a great deal so that regular, everyday Americans can keep their freedoms. As such, not only do veterans deserve our respect, but they also deserve to be taken care of when they are in need. Indeed, as every veterans' benefits lawyer knows, most veterans are entitled to receive a wide variety of benefits relating to medical care and other types of disability needs.

Woman brings medical malpractice suit against government

A widow has accused the United States government of committing medical errors that led to the death of her husband. The alleged medical malpractice happened during a surgery on her husband in 2013. She filed her lawsuit last month and cited the primary cause of action as negligence. Although this is not a Pennsylvania medical malpractice case, it is not unheard of for individuals to pursue claims against medical facilities like this in our state.

Nursing home abuse should be made public to spearhead reforms

Pennsylvania is a major residential center of senior citizens, with a growing population of people over 60. It is the fourth-largest senior population in the country and is also near the top in residents over age 85. However, there is also a good chance that if a senior suffers from some degree of age-related dementia, he or she will likely suffer some degree of in-home or nursing home abuse at some point or another.

Doing your part to prevent nursing home abuse

It is heartbreaking to think that anything that resembles elder abuse could ever happen in a Pennsylvania nursing home, but the fact is that this kind of abuse is common throughout the state. Unfortunately, the situation only appears to be getting worse as more and more baby boomers advance in years to be the age where they require round-the-clock medical assistance. With more people in nursing homes, more instances of nursing home abuse is inevitable.
