Pittsburgh Ozempic & WeGovy Attorneys

Representing Clients for Over Four Decades

Have you been taking Ozempic, Wegovy, or Mounjaro for weight loss? Have you noticed any potentially life-altering side effects as a result? It turns out that many patients who have taken these drugs are alleging that the companies that produced them failed to properly warn them about their side effects.

If you’ve gone through this experience, you could be entitled to substantial compensation for what you’ve gone through. As Ozempic and Wegovy attorneys, our team at Robert Peirce & Associates, P.C. takes these allegations seriously. We believe that everyone has a right to know the risks involved with the medications they’re prescribed, and when corporations lie about those risks, they should be held accountable.

About Ozempic & WeGovy

Developed by Novo Nordisk and approved by the FDA in 2017, Ozempic is a medication for controlling high blood sugar in patients with Type 2 diabetes. The drug is a trade name for semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) that can help regulate blood sugar levels. Furthermore, Ozempic can dull appetite signals, which can often result in weight loss.

Novo Nordisk then developed a weight loss drug known as Wegovy, which was approved in 2021. This drug also contains semaglutide and is prescribed to patients for obesity. These medications are administered via subcutaneous injection by the patient themselves on a weekly basis.

Dangers of Ozempic & WeGovy

The use of Ozempic has been a topic of concern as more and more cases are surfacing that link this drug and its varieties to certain health problems.

Patients have suffered:

  • Gastroparesis: Gastroparesis is also known as stomach paralysis. This condition causes food to remain in the stomach for an excessive amount of time. As a result, patients can suffer from vomiting, abdominal pain, malnutrition, acid reflux, and nausea.
  • Gastric obstruction: This condition can result in constipation, abdominal pain, vomiting, and inability to pass gas.

Manufacturers Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly (Mounjaro) have been accused of failing to warn doctors and patients of the heightened risks associated with the use of their drugs in relation to gastroparesis or stomach paralysis. If you or a loved one has been impacted by the side effects of these medications, it is crucial that you seek help from an Ozempic or WeGovy attorney to evaluate your case and help you pursue legal action.
