When we talk about success at Robert Peirce & Associates, P.C., we do not only mean case results or years in practice. For us, success also means having the chance to give back to the people and communities that shaped us. That is the story we share in our Community Involvement video.
In just a few minutes, the video shows how our team steps outside the office to spend time with seniors in nursing homes, support children facing serious illness, and open doors for kids who want to play sports. It reflects what matters to us today: dignity, compassion, and opportunity for people across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.
How we define “giving back”
The video opens with a simple idea that guides our work:
“One of the fortunate things that comes with success is that we're able to give back to the community.”
We believe our good fortune carries responsibility. For more than 40 years, we have represented individuals and families whose lives changed because of serious injuries or negligence. That work keeps us close to people going through some of the hardest days of their lives. Our community efforts grow from the same place. When we can bring comfort, relief, or even a brief smile, we see that as part of our role in this region.
Moments from the video that stay with you
The Community Involvement video does not follow a script. It walks through a few specific traditions that have become part of who we are as a firm.
Sharing holidays with Presents for Patients
For the last 20 to 25 years, our team has taken part in Presents for Patients. In the video, we describe how we visit nursing homes, bring gifts, and spend time with residents:
“We go to various nursing homes, give the elderly some presents, let them enjoy the holidays, and it's nice to bring a smile to them.”
That scene says a lot about our values. Many residents spend the holidays away from family. A short visit, a wrapped present, and a conversation can mean more than we might ever know. Those visits remind us that dignity does not end with age or illness; it often starts with being seen and remembered.
Granting wishes for children in treatment
The video also shares our long-running support for Make-A-Wish. Every year, we fund a full wish for a child who is dealing with serious medical treatment:
“Every year we give one full wish to a child who is sick to do what he or she wants to do while they're undergoing the medical treatment.”
That wish might mean travel, a special experience, or time with a hero. Whatever the child chooses, the goal stays the same: to give them something joyful to hold onto in a difficult season. As a longtime supporter of Make-A-Wish, with more than $104,500 donated since 2000, we see each wish as part of a greater promise to children and families in our region.
Opening doors through youth sports
The third thread in the video focuses on young athletes. We support many local youth sports teams so that kids can stay active, learn teamwork, and feel part of something bigger than themselves. As the video explains:
“We give to many of the local youth sports teams so that kids can play sports at all levels and especially help out those children that may not be able to afford to participate.”
Sports often provide structure, confidence, and community for children. When cost shuts kids out, they lose more than a game. We want more families to have the chance to say “yes” when a child wants to join a team, no matter their budget.
The theme that ties it all together: a simple smile
Near the end of the video, we return to the simplest result of all this work:
“And it's nice to just bring a smile to everyone's face.”
That line may be the quiet heart of the story. Whether we are sitting with an elderly resident, helping grant a wish, or supporting a youth league, our aim is not grand. We want to ease a burden, honor a person’s worth, and add a little light to their day. Those small, human moments matter as much to us as any courtroom success.
How this reflects our values today
Our work in the community connects directly to how we approach our legal practice. For decades, Robert Peirce & Associates, P.C. has represented people across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia in cases involving serious injuries, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, workplace accidents, and other acts of negligence. Through more than 30,000 cases, including tens of thousands of claims brought by railroad employees and steel workers, we have seen how an injury or illness can upend a life.
That experience shapes how we treat our clients and our neighbors. We offer free initial consultations and work on a contingency fee basis, so people can reach out for help without paying upfront legal fees. We make communication a priority and focus on treating every client with dignity and respect. The same care that leads us to visit nursing homes or support children’s wishes guides how we listen, advise, and advocate for the people who call us.
Our long-term support for Presents for Patients, Make-A-Wish, and youth sports also reflects our roots in this region. With a presence in courts across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, we live and work in the same communities we serve. When we give back, we do so as neighbors who want to see our towns, schools, and families thrive.
Why this video matters now
People across our region continue to face challenges—medical, financial, and emotional. When you watch the Community Involvement video, we hope you see that our commitment runs deeper than legal cases. We measure our work by the people we stand beside when life turns upside down and by the small, steady ways we try to strengthen our communities.
